Bringing Characters to Life - Making Reading More Fun
Mrs. Lundberg’s St. Mary Immaculate School 3rd graders dressed up as characters from literature on Thursday, May 10. Students dressed to represent characters like Willie Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Some chose characters from other works we are reading from our Dahl author study, including James and the Giant Peach, The Twits, George’s Marvelous Medicine and Fantastic Mr. Fox.
One student appeared as Tucker Mouse from A Cricket in Times Square by George Selden, and several chose to come as rescue gang members from the book The Supernaturalist, by Eoin Colfer, our most recent class read-aloud. We also had the character Jane Moffat from the book The Moffats by Eleanor Estes and Tom (the Great Brain) and Andy from The Great Brain by John Dennis Fitzgerald. We enjoyed bringing our favorite characters to life in our classroom!
