D. 202 Students Competing in Healthy High School Challenge

District 202 high school students will soon take part in the Healthy High School Challenge, which will give them the chance to win up to $5,000 for their school.

Through December, students will compete with schools around the country to try to win the money while also attempting to become a little healthier.

The contest seeks to reinforce to students the importance of making healthy food choices.

The nation-wide contest, sponsored by food services contractor Sodexo is designed to reinforce to students the importance of making health food choices.

Students and staff members will earn points for their school by choosing specific meals, snacks and beverages from a list of designated healthy items. Points will be earned based on how many healthy food items are chosen.

Sodexo, the contest sponsor, will award $50,000 total in prize money to 56 schools nationwide. A tally of each competing school's current raking is posted on Facebook under "SodexoHHSC."
