The Plainfield Park District staff will go over the benefits of rain gardens at the Green Village Lecture Series event at 7 p.m. Aug. 8.

Plainfield's own rain garden at Village Green park will be used an example. James Less, landscape architect and park planner for the Plainfield Park District, and Cameron Bettin, superintendent of planning, will discuss the project and other natural areas managed by the Park District.

If weather allows, a brief site visit of the garden will follow the presentation.
