Plainfield's National Night Out will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Downtown Fire Station Administration Building, 15025 S. Des Plaines St.
The annual event is sponsored by the Plainfield Police Department and focuses on reducing crime and drug use, creating a sense of community, and strengthening the police-community partnership.
The event features games, raffles and crafts. It's held in conjunction with MainStreet Plainfield's weekly cruise night.
