PCHS Offers Parent Resource Rooms During Conferences

Plainfield High School – Central Campus has created a special “Parent Resource” room to give parents information and help in accessing district resources as part of Parent Teacher Conferences on November 7 and 8, 2012.

Parents are invited to stop in and discover the supports available to them through the school and community. Parents can reserve time to visit the Parent Resource room using the same online system used to schedule a parent-teacher conference.

“The Parent Resource room is an opportunity for parents to get help from staff members to access and understand some of the tools available to help them connect with their son or daughter’s education, like the Parent Web Module,” said PHSCC Catalyst Coordinator Josh Bloodgood.

The Parent Resource room will include materials about:

  • Accessing and using the Parent Web Module
  • Reading strategies
  • Study skills
  • Online resources (Pearson texts)
  • Drug trends
  • Sleep behaviors
  • Parenting tips (S.T.E.P. Teen Program)
  • Community resources

Computers will also be available for parents to use during their scheduled time in the Parent Resource room. Parents will be able to try out online resources as well.
