PHSCC Student to Play Baseball at Lewis University
Joe Sparacio, Plainfield Central High School student, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Lewis University during its 2012-13 academic year, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Sparacio, of Plainfield, is a 5'10" first baseman who was named Daily Herald All Area Second Team and First Team All-Conference after hitting .340 with 27 RBI, 12 doubles and four home runs during his junior year.
Sparacio earned Daily Herald All-Area Second Team as a sophomore after hitting .410 with 41 RBI, 14 doubles and six home runs.
An honor roll student, Sparacio played travel baseball for the Northern Illinois Reds and helped the team win the 2010 Northwestern 17U tournament.
Sparacio is one of the first two athletes to be signed to the team for next season.
