Plainfield Junior Woman's Club Elects New Officers
The GFWC-IL Plainfield Junior Woman's Club have elected new officers for the 2010-11 club administration.
They are Karri McLeod, president; Brook Henschen, vice president; Kim Smith, treasurer; Karyn M. Palumbo, corresponding secretary; and Lori Hubbard, recording secretary;
McLeod said the local GFWC chapter, which formed in 2008 and has 15 members, is made up of Plainfield-area women who can give a few hours a month to a community-based service project.
"We all lead busy lives, but we believe that by joining together as a GFWC-IL club we can really make a difference," McLeod said.
Said Palumbo, the group's immediate past president: "GFWC is an international volunteer organization with members in every state in the United States and 20 countries."
The club also sponsors a Juniorettes chapter, which promotes educational goals and leadership for Plainfield girls in grades 8 through 12, while providing community service through volunteerism. Henschen and hospitality chairman Leticia Tassone serve as the Juniorettes' advisors.
