Plainfield South High School inducted new members into its foreign language honor societies on Monday, November 5, 2012.

Invitation for membership into the Société Honoraire de Français French National Honor Society, Deutsche Ehrenverbindung German National Honor Society, and Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica Spanish National Honor Society is based on scholarship in the language as well as scholarship throughout high school. 

The foreign language honor societies recognize student achievement in the study of foreign languages and promote further understanding of languages and cultures.  

Family and friends witnessed the induction ceremony, which included candle lighting and a pledge in each language. 

“We are very proud of our students and their hard work in earning this distinction,” said PSHS Spanish teacher Gina Geraci. The ceremony was sponsored by PSHS World Language teachers Maureen E. Miller, Matt Harring, Toni Lowery, Sarah August and  Geraci.
