First-grade students in Brandy Leonard's class at Walker's Grove Elementary School pose inside a loader during their recent field trip to Vulcan Materials Quarry in Bolingbrook.
The students have been studying various types of rocks in their science class, and on the field trip they got to collect rocks harvested locally and to see the machines and equipment used to extract them from the quarry.
