Walter A. "Wally" Reitz, age 66, a Plainfield resident since 1986, was born January 9, 1945 in Chicago. He died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, Bolingbrook.
Loving husband of Barbara (nee Erwin) Reitz, whom he married June 18, 1966, beloved father of the late David A. Reitz and Jennifer L. (Dave) Mareska, dear grandfather of Kaitlyn, devoted son of the late Ben and Elsie Reitz.
Wally grew up in Chicago's Austin neighborhood, was a 1963 graduate of Austin High School and served in the U.S. Army as an aircraft repairman during the Vietnam War. An auto mechanic by trade, Wally currently owned and operated Quick Care Auto in Plainfield. He enjoyed auto racing and was a competitive racer.
Visitation Wednesday, September 21, 9:30-11:30 A.M. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Road (Corner of Rts. 30 & 59), Plainfield. Funeral Services will follow Wednesday, 11:30 A.M. in the funeral home. Interment Plainfield Township Cemetery, Plainfield.

What a wonderful and lovable man. Although I have not seen or spoken to Wally and Louise for several years, you both have always and will forever hold a special place in my heart. I will never forget the love and friendship, especially during such a bad time in my life. Wally was always there for me and such a comforting soul - RIP. Love to both. Melinda
