Plainfield Police Blotter: Walmart Pharmacy Employee Accused of Stealing Pills; DUI Arrests
Arrests reported by Plainfield police, Dec. 14-15.
Pamela Hayes, 52, of the 300 block of Woodcreek, Bolingbrook, was arrested by Plainfield police at 10:54 a.m. at Walmart, 12690 S. Route 59, and charged with retail theft and possession of a controlled substance after allegedly stealing prescription medications. Hayes, who was employed by the Walmart pharmacy, is accused of stealing more than 6,000 pills, mainly the narcotic pain reliever/cough suppressant hydrocodone/acetaminophen, over a two-year period, according to Sgt. Mike Fisher. "She would take a couple at a time," Fisher added, noting police believe the drugs were stolen for Hayes' personal use and were not being sold. Hayes was booked into the Will County jail; bail was set at $2,500.
James Shaw, 39, of the 24000 block of Soldier Drive, Plainfield, was arrested by Plainfield police at 1:02 a.m. at Soldier Drive and Van Dyke Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. Bond amount was $1,000.
Renee Marcheses, 46, of the 13000 block of South Grill Drive, Plainfield, was arrested by Plainfield police at 11:10 p.m. at 135th Street and Route 30 and charged with driving under the infuence of alcohol, police said. Bond amount was $1,000.
