Plainfield Police Help Nab Alleged Father/Son Pot-Growers
Larry and Matthew Stokes of Bolingbrook were arrested after police found 33 cannabis plants and more than 1,000 grams of loose cannabis, officials said.
Plainfield police helped the DEA execute a search warrant that netted $175,000 worth of marijuana at a Bolingbrook home, police said.
Larry Stokes, 61, and son Matthew Stokes, 32, were arrested Dec. 14 at their home in the 800 block of Aberdeen Court after authorities searched the house and discovered 33 cannabis plants and 1,048 grams of loose cannabis, according to police.
Also assisting in the search were members of the Bolingbrook Police Department, Will County Cooperative Police Assistance Team and the Joliet Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad.
Bond for both father and son was set at $50,000, meaning each would have to post $5,000 to be released. Both were being held Monday at the Will County jail.
The men were charged with manufacture/delivery of 30-500 grams of cannabis, possession of 30-500 grams of cannabis, producing 20-50 cannabis plants and producing more than five cannabis plants, according to Will County records. They were due in court Monday afternoon.

I guess catching real criminals is too much work nowadays. Lets arrest the small time pot famers and justify by saying 2lbs of marijuana is worth 175k....What a joke...

Hey John Doe, I'm 99.99% sure that Joey was being sarcastic.
I hope they don't have to release any repeat violent offenders to make room for these two...

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but every home invasion in plainfield has always boiled down to drug robberies.
That's why people don't like dealers in their neighborhoods. Even if the cannabis itself is reasonably benign (as far as drugs go) It still attracts scum, like moths to a flame

Well until they make it legal, you might as well let your fingers cramp up by typing these worthless comments......
HUGO, are 100% right, all or most of these robberies or home invasions are for sure drugs and mamrijuana is always included in these crimes

How about more effort to contain the drug that's killed over FORTY people in Will County this year. 17 of people under the age of 25. (in 2006 there were 10 cases)

Jono, you also have NO clue on a team effort of approx 5 agencies were involved. This search warrant was not in Plainfield, so how do they ask for help. The Bolingbrook pd requested assistance

Reread what he said. "Why is Plainfield again helping an outside agency?"
He said exactly what you are saying. Plainfield is helping Bolingbrook instead of taking care of their own affairs. "guess they don't have their own crime to solve". "They" meaning Plainfield. Read much? Comprehension is key.

I'd be curious to know how many fellow police officers like yourself are posting comments about your cases while on the job. I can't imagine you could be anything but police officers with as knowledgeable as you are about all these cases you seem so passionate about.

I know officers in some of these departments and ask about this. He said these task forces are made up with officers from Plainfield, joliet,Bolingbrook, Romeoville and other surrounding departments. There were not uniformed officers from each department at this event, it was a task force. Hope that solves all this bs talk
