Suspect in Police Custody for CVS Armed Robbery
Few details available about the Wednesday night incident, other than no one was injured and no shots fired, Joliet Lt. Mike Batis said.
A man accused of holding up the CVS drug store at Caton Farm and Drauden roads Wednesday night is in custody and likely to be charged with armed robbery, Joliet police Lt. Mike Batis said.
The incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m., and it's believed the suspect acted alone. No shots were fired or no employees or customers were injured, Batis said.
Beyond that, however, no other details about what occurred or how the suspect was captured will be released until morning, he said.
"The suspect's being interviewed right now," said Batis, speaking at about 9:40 p.m. "He probably will be booked (into the Will County jail) tonight."
The 2375 Drauden Rd. store was surrounded by a half dozen squad cars, and officers blocked the parking lot entrances to prevent customers from going into the store while the on-site investigation was being conducted. The few employees seen leaving the store at about 9 p.m. declined to discuss the incident.

Me and my 9 yr old daughter were in the store and were asked to leave, I didn't understand what was going on until I came outside and seen the cops with shields and rifels. We were so scared. I'm just so happy no one was hurt! Praise god!

This is what a competent Police Department looks like.
Poor decision by this robber though, if he wanted to get away without being bothered by the police, he should have robbed a store in Plainfield.

it is Plainfield, but with the weird shape to joliet, they often respond to calls in Plainfield for some reason... even those this intersection is at least a couple miles from Joliet

dillon the CVS is in Joliet. Joliet police respond to calls in their own jurisdiction. Joliet extends all the way out to Plainfield South. The addresses by CVS and out by PSH is far west Joliet.

CVS is about a mile into Joliet dillon. Perhaps you could take out a map and understand municipal boundaries? But I see geography isn't your best subject.

So, it's a little mixed up around here. Plainfield address, Joliet police and an incorrect spelling. But, the robber should've robbed a store in Plainfield. I guess the implication is that the Plainfield police department is not to the standards of the Joliet police department. Most of all, given Aurora, Colorado, I am glad that nobody was hurt or killed.

This is Joliet. We go all the way to Grove. The subdivisions have Plainfield postal codes because of the Post Office. I know this because Im one of the Sergeants in the photos.

Tim, I'm guessing even you could have taken this kid into custody, it has nothing to do with what police department was involved. HE LOCKED HIMSELF IN A BATHROOM

He will "probably" be booked? Why probably? especially with a criminal record. HE should be booked no question about it.
