Troy Middle School Seeks Community Support for Grant Application

Troy Middle School in Plainfield has applied for a grant through the Clorox Corporation to purchase equipment to teach students about renewable energies.  Students will learn, in a hands-on classroom lab, how wind and solar energy is generated and used to power simple machines.  Steve Meyer, 8th grade Applied Technologies teacher, submitted the grant proposal on behalf of the school, but now the school needs support from the community.  The grant winners are based on votes.  You can vote once each day from now through December 19, 2012.  There are three easy ways to vote.

1. You can text 2388pbf to 95248 (one text/vote per day)

2. You can vote through your mobile device.

3. You can vote online through the Clorox website: https://powerabrightfuture.clorox.com/nominees/detail/?nid=2388

Spread the word through your Facebook or Twitter accounts or e-mail to your friends and family.

It's nice to see the schools looking for creative ways to find sources of money other than raising taxes. I am supporting Troy by casting a vote. Pass it on...texting a vote was easy. Text 2388pbf to 95248.

We should support our schools when they are trying to do something good for our kids. Troy Middle School is just asking for our support of their grant application. They cannot win without our votes. Vote with a text; it is easy! Text 2388pbf to the number 95248. You can vote once each day until December 19th.
