2013 Preschool Information Fair

During this annual event, parents and caretakers of preschool children can explore multiple options for area preschools and daycare in just one afternoon.  Held downstairs in the Library’s large meeting room, attendees can ask questions, gather information and talk with representatives from nearly 20 local preschools and daycares. Participants for 2013 include ABChildcare,  All Our Kids Network, Apple Tree Preschool, Bethany Lutheran, Creative World School of Plainfield, Goddard School of Plainfield, Great Adventures of the Plainfield Park District, Joliet Junior College Early Childhood Center, Kensington School of South Naperville,  Kinder Care Learning Center, LaPetite Academy,  Lighthouse Academy Childcare/Preschools,  Little Scholars Academy, PamKids and Will County Childcare Association,  Peaceful Hearts, The Learning Experience of Crest Hill, Trinity Christian Preschool and  Zion Lutheran Early Childhood Learning Center. 

During the same hours that day, children between the ages of 3 to 5 can receive free vision and hearing screenings administered by a technician from the Will County Health Department.   Several drawings will be held the day of the fair and adults and children who reside within the Plainfield Public Library District are welcome to sign-up for a free Library card. This event will take place at the Plainfield Public Library District, 15025 S. The Plainfield Public Library, located in a charming, red-brick building in the downtown district, uses every square inch of space to house a 130,000 book/CD/DVD collection and to offer banks of public computers. In 2009, more than 610,000 items checked out and as many as 55,000 people attended programs and sought information from the reference desk. No age group is ignored when it comes to what the library offers. There are dozen children's programs, book clubs, teen blogs, computer education, job-seeker services and more.
