Have you wanted to take Financial Peace University (FPU) but didn't feel like you had the time to commit to a 13 week class?  Dave Ramsey and his team have updated FPU from 13 weekly sessions of 120 minute classes to 9 weekly sessions of 90 minute classes.  There is more focus on the BUDGET:  the one area we can always improve.  The shorter sessions allow families to fit learning to live and give like no one else into their busier and busier lives. Financial Peace University is a video curriculum taught by Dave Ramsey as well as small-group discussion for encouragement and accountability.  The program teaches participants how to eliminate debt and save for the future in order to achieve their financial goals from a Christian perspective.  Participants will pay a special price of $49 for materials (typically $89), which include a book, a workbook, CDs of each lesson, a money envelope to implement the system, and access to all of the online resources at www.daveramsey.com.  Are you an old FPU graduate?  Your lifetime membership still applies.  You can participate in the class by simply purchasing the new workbook for only $15.  To learn more about the class, come attend the Free Preview class held on Sunday, August 26th from 4-5pm. Class will be coordinated by Matt and Colleen Runty and will begin Sunday, September 9th from 4-5:30pm. Childcare will be provided.

In 1823, a Methodist circuit rider named Jesse Walker came to the land along the DuPage River in order to bring Christianity to the Pottawatomie people of Illinois. Circuit riders were traveling preachers who moved on horseback to spread the gospel message. Led by Walker, a small group of settlers formed the first Methodist church in Plainfield in 1829. The current church was built in 1848, with subsequent additions built in 1921, 1952, 1966 and 2004.
