Do you need to register to vote in the November 6, 2012 General Election? The deadline is Tuesday, October 9. Register anytime at the Plainfield Library! You’ll need to bring two forms of identification such as: driver’s license, social security card, utility bill, employee or student I.D., lease or contract for a residence or credit card. Naturalized citizens will be required to provide the court, place and date of naturalization. A special registration drive will take place in the Library’s lower level lobby, during operating hours, September 24 to October 9. 

The Library is open 9 am to 9 pm, Monday through Thursday and 9 am to 5 pm on Friday and Saturday and 1 to 5 pm on Sundays. 

You do not need to be a Plainfield resident to register to vote at the Library--we can register anyone in the state of Illinois.

The Plainfield Public Library, located in a charming, red-brick building in the downtown district, uses every square inch of space to house a 130,000 book/CD/DVD collection and to offer banks of public computers. In 2009, more than 610,000 items checked out and as many as 55,000 people attended programs and sought information from the reference desk. No age group is ignored when it comes to what the library offers. There are dozen children's programs, book clubs, teen blogs, computer education, job-seeker services and more.
