Lake Effect Snow Advisory: Expect More Snow, Strong Winds

The wind chill could hit -20 Thursday night.

A lake effect snow advisory is in effect in Will County until 6 p.m. Thursday, with the forecast calling for 2-4 more inches for the Plainfield region by the end of the day.

After the snow, area residents can expect "brutal frigid air" by next Monday and Tuesday, according to the Joliet Weather Center.

 ... After the snow finally exits the area tonight, get ready for arctic bitter air overnight into tomorrow," the weather center said. "Temperatures during the day will reach around 20 degrees with lows dipping to -5 to -10 below zero tonight with wind chills around -20 below."

As for next week, "The most optimistic forecast predicts Monday’s high temperature will be 0 degrees," according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
