A Joliet man who sexually touched and assaulted a young girl hundreds of times over the course of a decade, starting when the victim was just 6 years old, has been sentenced to 63 years in prison. Joliet Patch

Plainfield Park District Axes Planning Dept, According to Board Member

After a tumultuous year, there was more upheaval at the Plainfield Park District this week. Seven months after essentially being demoted to make way for new Executive Director Garrett Peck, Assistant Executive Director and Superintendent of Planning Cameron Bettin is reportedly no longer with the park district. The park district has no plans to replace Bettin or landscape architect James Less, who reportedly resigned. Plainfield Patch

Frigid Forecast Could Delay Students' Return to Valley View Schools

A predicted high of -9 Monday could mean a longer winter break for students in nearby Valley View School District, officials said Thursday.
