Plainfield Central to Host World War II Re-Enactors

Students will learn about WWII from PCHS graduate Eric Percy.

It's become an annual tradition that lets students get a glimpse of what it was like on the battlefront.

For the ninth year, Plainfield Central High School graduate Eric Percy will present World War II battle re-enactments at the campus, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Dr.

Students in English and social studies classes will hear a presentation from Percy in the auditorium, before heading outside for a re-enactment.

"The soldiers do use blanks to illustrate the tension and noise and chaos of battle," District 202 Community Relations Director Tom Hernandez said in a press release. Hernandez said Plainfield police have been notified about the re-enactments.

The first presentation will start at about 7:05 a.m.; re-enactments will happen throughout the school day, with the last presentation at 1:14 p.m.
