Plainfield Police Nab Fugitives, DUI Driver During Thanksgiving Crackdown

Plus, headlines you might have missed.

Plainfield police teamed up with IDOT to conduct a Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement campaign Nov. 18 to Dec. 1.

The Thanksgiving crackdown resulted in one DUI arrest, two drug arrests and three fugitives apprehended, plus a whole lot of citations. Here's the breakdown for the IDOT-funded enforcement:

  • 126 seat belt citations
  • 16 child safety seat citations 
  • 1 DUI arrest
  • 1 felony arrest
  • 3 fugitives apprehended
  • 2 suspended/revoked license arrests
  • 10 uninsured motorist citations
  • 25 speeding citations
  • 2 drug arrests
  • 1 texting while driving citation
  • 19 other citations

The next IDOT funded campaign will be in conjunction with the Christmas and New Year’s Holidays and will run from Dec. 20 to Jan. 5, 2014.
