Route 59 Work Begins in Plainfield; Pet Blessing at Plainfield UMC

A look at what's happening this week in Plainfield.

Expect even more traffic delays in Plainfield: Work began Monday on an Illinois Department of Transportation project reconfigure the turn lanes on Route 59 immediately north and south of Pasquinelli Drive/Andrew Road. 

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in either direction through the work zone, with temporary turn lanes, according to the Village of Plainfield. The contact calls for the project to be completed within 25 days.

Cruise Nights (set for 5 to 9 p.m.) isn't the only think happening Tuesday in downtown Plainfield.

You can also take your four-legged friends over to Plainfield's United Methodist Church, 15114 N. Illinois St., at 7 p.m. Tuesday for a free pet blessing.
