The fast-moving storm spawned multiple tornadoes in Illinois and Indiana, threatening some 53 million people across 10 Midwestern states on Sunday, Nov. 17. After sweeping through central Illinois, the storms hit the suburban Chicago area, causing damage and knocking out power in Frankfort, New Lenox, Tinley Park, Flossmoor, Homewood, Coal City and Joliet.
