ComEd, Exelon Volunteers Celebrate Arbor Day by Planting Trees at Riverview Park

Volunteers from ComEd and Exelon join Conversation Plainfield for Arbor Day volunteer project.

Employee volunteers from ComEd and its parent company Exelon joined Conservation Plainfield for Arbor Day at Riverview Park on Saturday, April 27.  The volunteers helped plant native bare-root tree saplings along the DuPage River Trail.

Arbor Day officially took place on Friday, April 26, and was created in 1872 for tree planting and for recognizing the importance of trees.

The volunteer event was part of Exelon’s company-wide observance of National Volunteer Week (April 21-27), an annual nationwide celebration of people working to improve their communities through service.  The event was one of more than 150 communty service projects Exelon employee volunteers led during National Volunteer Week.
