Document Indicates Madigan Trying To Replace Grosskopf.

We were inundated with phone calls regarding a recent op-ed in The Plainfield Patch claiming Michael Madigan may be working a deal to get his hand-picked candidate inserted into Illinois State Representative race for the 97th District. This seat has been held by Republican, Tom Cross. After this article appeared, we received inquires on what we may know about the subject. Is there a deal being negotiated with Grosskopf?

Here is the copy of the document that was circulated to lobbyists in Springfield. All the names on the flyer are State Representative Candidates. So, why is Dennis Grosskopf not on the list? Why is Moira Dunn on the list? We don't know. As far as we are concerned, she is not a candidate for any position. She lost her primary for a judicial position. However, she does live in the 97th and is the daughter of Thomas A. Dunn, who is a retired Democratic State Senator and Associate Will County judge.

Whether Mike Madigan cuts a deal to replace Dennis Grosskopf with Moira Dunn or Dennis himself stays in the race, we don't feel that his brand of insider politics plays well here in the 97th district.  We look forward to a successful November.
