Enrollment Open for Great Adventures Program for Preschoolers

Enrollment Open for Plainfield Park District Great Adventures Program for Preschoolers

Open enrollment for the Plainfield Park District’s Great Adventures Program for Preschoolers is underway!

Based on the premise that children learn through play, participants ages 3 to 5 will explore, create, discover, problem solve, and communicate to develop age-appropriate skills. Experienced, nurturing staff members implement a progressive program using themes to expose students to colors, shapes, numbers, and letters through a friendly, fun atmosphere. A balance of whole group and small group activities encourage academic and listening skills along with social interaction. Each classroom consists of two instructors and approximately 18 students.

All children must be completely toilet trained to participate. Children must be 3 years old by September 1, 2014 to be enrolled in the 3-year-old program, and 4 years old by September 1, 2014 to be enrolled in the 4-year-old program. Children who turn 5 years old by December 15, 2014 may enroll in the Finally Five Program.

Classes begin in late August and early September and run through mid-May. Morning and afternoon sessions are available. Classes take place at the Heritage Center, 24023 W. Lockport St. in Downtown Plainfield, and at the Streams Recreation Center, 24319 Cedar Creek Ln. in Plainfield.

Registration is accepted at the Recreation/Administration Center and Heritage Professional Center. Online registration is not accepted for this program.
