Plainfield Park District Special Board Mtng 11/30/13

OK, so there’s a special PPD board meeting this weekend—this was the one that got called because of the insurance issue during the regular meeting on Nov 13th.  At heart seemed to be disappointment from board commissioners Newton and Ludemann about allowing the exec director alone to make the insurance decisions, i.e., choose what to buy in the way of insurance, for the district.  Normally, the full board would look at the options for insurance and vote on which was the best for the district.  So, they all agreed to try and meet before December to get this resolved and perhaps there won’t then be a regular December PPD mtng . . . I think that’s how the debate summed up.

Here’s the listing from the PPD website regarding this special meeting, or see it at http://www.plainfieldparkdistrict.com/about-board.asp and scroll down to just below the commissioner bios and then a bit farther down in a table is the meeting agenda:

“There will be a special meeting of the Plainfield Township Park District (the “Park District”) Board of Park Commissioners on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Heritage Professional Center, Lower Level, 24023 W. Lockport Street, Plainfield, Illinois. The purpose of the meeting is to take action on employee health insurance.  For additional information contact Garrett Peck, Secretary at (815) 436-8812.”

It shouldn’t take too long as meetings go—why not turn up, participate, and then maybe some of us can cluster together for a little coffee and community networking after, share a bit of time and talk?  Hope many of you can make it, despite the holiday weekend.
