Willfinduhelp.org lists social service agencies across Will County

Today, representatives from numerous social service agencies in Will County joined city and county officials to celebrate the launch of www.willfinduhelp.org, a website highlighting the services and agencies available to residents in Will and Grundy Counties. The website will be managed by Crisis Line of Will County.

     Michele Batara, executive director of Crisis Line, said the creation of this website will be beneficial on multiple levels. She estimates her agency receives 1,200 calls each month with more than 500 of these calls requesting information on a variety of topics from child care resources to help with aging parents.

     “This website will offer another avenue of sharing important information with our residents,” Batara said. “As technology continues to expand, people are turning to the Internet to obtain information. We are proud to keep pace with this ever changing technology and offer another option for our residents.”

     Through www.willfinduhelp.org, residents can search for information relating to rental assistance, food pantry locations, as well as referrals to medical providers. As always, residents also have the option to speak to someone live at Crisis Line, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

     “Our priority lies with assisting people who are in an immediate crisis,” said Batara. “This website will help us maintain a high level of personal service while making other information available to our residents when they need it.”

     This website is an initiative of the Will County MAPP (Mobilizing Action through Planning and Partnerships) collaborative, which includes agencies and organizations across Will County. For more information on this initiative, visit the website: www.willcountyhealth.org.
