Severe storms hit Chicagoland Sunday, with confirmed tornadoes touching down in Peoria and Washington, Illinois, as well as reports of people trapped in damaged buildings in Coal City. Bears fans were also asked to take shelter at Soldier Field as Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens was postponed.

Plainfield Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) volunteers were en route to Coal City to offer assistance on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the severe storms gave way to briefly sunny skies in Plainfield, and Patch readers captured the show. Click through the gallery to see some of the photos readers shared with Patch via our Facebook page. Feel free to share your own photos by posting them on Patch's boards.
