Cross, Edward Hospital Host Diabetes Awareness Fair in Plainfield

Edward's Plainfield campus will host the event.

State Representative Tom Cross (R-Oswego) and Edward Hospital are teaming up to sponsor a Diabetes Awareness Fair free for local families and interested residents. 

The Diabetes Awareness Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 16 at Edward Plainfield Campus located at 24600 W 127th St. in Plainfield. 

“Diabetes can affect everyone and the number of new diagnoses increases every day,” said Cross. “This is our third annual fair to provide free resources and healthcare screenings to the community.”

The event includes free admission, refreshments and most importantly, information and resources on living with diabetes. Certified diabetes educators and doctors from Edward Hospital will be available to talk with visitors about their concerns on diabetes.

“This event will provide information not only for those who have diabetes, but also for those who may be at risk and may not know it,” said Cross. “Diabetes is very manageable if you receive proper medical care and education.”

Visitors will be able to get free blood glucose testing, podiatric foot screenings, flu shots, blood pressure checks and more.
