Cross to Host Kids Fair at Plainfield Central

Event is June 15.

More than 70 area vendors covering a wide range of educational, health and child care, recreational and community services will participate in State Rep. Tom Cross’ Kid’s Fair 2013, set for 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15 at Plainfield Central High School
Admission to the event is FREE with complimentary refreshments and giveaways also provided. Information will be available on topics such as cyber bullying, fire safety, bicycle safety, after-school programs, daycare, nutrition, Internet safety and library programs; to name just a few.
“Our Kids Fair showcases the tremendous local resources and activities available to kids and families throughout our area,” said Cross. “I encourage every local family to stop by and check out all that our community has to offer. Our Kids Fair is interactive, fun, and informational for families of all ages.”
Demonstrations at the event include the Joliet Police K-9 Unit (9 a.m.); the Chicago Fire Juniors West youth soccer (9:30 a.m.); the Traveling Reptile Show (10 a.m.); the Illinois Dance Academy (11 a.m.); the Starr Dance Studio (11:30 a.m.); and Karate for Kids (noon).

A drawing for giveaways is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. The Touch-A-Truck exhibit featuring over 25 trucks will be located in the parking lot.
