Go Bald to Conquer Kids' Cancer: St. Baldrick's Event is March 17 in Plainfield

The Naperville Knights of Columbus is seeking donors and "shavees" for the St. Patrick's Day event.

On St. Patrick's Day, revelers will gather in downtown Plainfield to celebrate the wearin' o' the green during the annual Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade.

The Naperville Knights of Columbus Holy Spirit Council #15073 will host a fundraiser for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, helping to raise money to defeat childhood cancers.

Set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at the old Plainfield fire station at 15025 S. DesPlaines St., "shavees" will get their heads shaved in exchange for donations.

More than 30 volunteers are set to shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer, according to organizers.
