Native Plants Being Sold to Benefit Conservation Plainfield

Plants can be ordered online and will be available May 14 at the group's Spring Environmental Expo.

Conservation Plainfield is conducting a native plant sale fundraiser through May 14th.

Native plants require less watering, help infiltrate stormwater, and provide a beautiful wildlife habitat. The plant sale has been enhanced for 2011, with bloom color and time information, as well as plant “kits” for creating rain gardens, butterfly gardens, and other conditions, sold as a package at a discounted rate.

The kits cost $80. Individual plants are $7.50 and feature such choices as blue wild indigo, purple coneflowers, rough blazing star and wild columbine.
