Plainfield Car Show Benefits Burn Camp

The event is set for Aug. 11 at the Plainfield fire department headquarters on 135th Street.

The Plainfield Fire Protection District will host the Camp I Am Me Car Show in conjunction with the Southland Street Machines car club from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11,  at the Plainfield Fire Protection District Headquarters, 23748 W. 135th St. in Plainfield.  

Show cars and fire apparatus are welcome to enter, there is a $10 entry donation for vehicles, and entry is free for spectators. The car show will be held rain or shine.

Funds raised from this car show will go to the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance’s burn camp known as Camp I Am Me.  The camp is for children who have experienced significant burn injuries and gives them the opportunity to meet other children with burn injuries while building their self esteem in a summer camp environment.  For more information about the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance or Camp I Am Me please visit their web site at www.ifsa.org.
