Plainfield Movies in the Park Series Continues June 27

Calling all movie lovers!  The 2014 Movie Series, presented by BMO Harris Bank, continues at 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 27, at Settlers' Park.  

The Village of Plainfield and Plainfield Park District will show "Despicable Me 2," sponsored by First Community Bank, in Settlers’ Park at the Richard A. Rock Amphitheater.  The animated movie featuring the voices of Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig is rated PG with a run time of 98 minutes. 

Be sure to head to Settlers’ Park early, the Plainfield Park District is organizing Family Recess, backyard games and activities, at 7:30 p.m.  The Plainfield Library, Plainfield Police Department and Plainfield Fire Protection District are also joining in the fun and will be at the movie.

Before the movie, First Community Financial Bank will provide a cash grab machine for children age 12 and under. Please note: The money must be used to open a Minor Savings Account at First Community Financial Bank.

Settlers’ Park is located in Downtown Plainfield, southeast of the intersection of Lockport Street and Van Dyke Road and just south of the Village Hall.  Parking is available in the Village Hall Parking Lot, on Village Center Drive, and on Van Dyke Road. 

Terraced seating is available. Attendees are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Concessions will be available for sale and the proceeds will benefit the movies in the park.
