Plainfield School District Computer Sale is Nov. 9

The district will sell surplus laptops, desktops.

District 202 will sell surplus laptop and desktop computers to the community Saturday, Nov. 9, at Plainfield East High School, 12001 S. Naperville Rd., Plainfield.

The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until all computers are sold. Customers should line up at the East entrance in back of the school. Customers will get numbers as they arrive, and will be allowed to wait in the school cafeteria.

The district will sell:

  • about 450 Dell Latitude model D630 ($70) and E6400 laptops ($90); and
  • about 250 Optiplex model 960 desktops ($80, including a 17-inch standard flat screen monitor, keyboard and mouse).

Laptops will be limited to two per family. There is no limit on the number of desktops.

All of the computers are four to six years old and are in great working condition. All hard drives have been wiped clean. Each computer comes with the Windows Vista operating system, Apache Open Office and Avast anti-virus programs installed.

***Please note: the laptop batteries are the same age as the laptops, so they may not hold a charge as long as a new battery.

All equipment will be sold "as is", no warranty, with limited return policy. Terms of the return policy will be posted on site at the sale. Some restrictions may apply.

Cash, MasterCard or Visa credit and/or debit cards, will be accepted. Personal checks will not be accepted.

 

Money raised from the computer sale will be used to buy new equipment and update older equipment to better serve district students and staff.
