Plainfield St. Baldrick's Events Draw 150 Shavees — So Far

Not one, but two head-shaving events will happen in Plainfield on March 16.

The Village Preservation Association's annual Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade will be here before you know it, and with the revelry will come a chance to fight back against children's cancer.

On Sunday, March 16 — the same day as the parade —  Knights of Columbus, Holy Spirit Council 15037 will host a St. Baldrick's fundraiser at two different locations in Plainfield:

  • From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the old Plainfield fire station at 15025 S. DesPlaines St., in conjunction with the Village Preservation Association’s Hometown Irish Parade
  •  From 3 to 6 p.m. at Nevin' Brewing Company, 12337 S. Route 59
So far, 150 people have signed up to get their heads shaved to raise money for children's cancer research, according to the Knights of Columbus.

Last year, the St. Baldrick's fundraiser at the old fire station raised more than $43,000, thanks to the help of nearly 140 shavees.
