Snow Today, Sledding Tomorrow: Sled Hills in Plainfield

The Plainfield Park District offers a list of local sledding sites.

The Plainfield area is expected to get two to six inches of snow — or more, if the predicted "thundersnow" materializes — in Thursday's winter storm.

For those among us who have been longing to see the white stuff, the Plainfield Park District is reminding residents of local sledding sites.

The park district's sled hills locations:

  • Boy Scout Park - 23729 W. Ottawa St. - behind the Recreation/Administration Center.
  • Cumberland Park (Cumberland subdivision)- Caton Farm Road west to County Line Road; south (left) on County Line Road to Manchester Drive; east (left) on Manchester Drive to Cumberland Drive; south (right) on Cumberland Drive to Gallatin Lane; east (left) on Gallatin Lane and follow to park.
  • Norman Greenway - On 135th Street approximately ½-mile west of Route 30. There is a parking lot near the sled hill.
