State Reps Hold Summer Clothing Drive

Donations to benefit Lamb's Fold Center for Women and Children

Submitted by the office of State Rep. Tom Cross:

Since State Representatives Tom Cross (R-Plainfield), Darlene Senger (R-Naperville), and Larry Walsh Jr. (D-Elwood) launched a Summer Clothing and Supplies donation drive in May, local residents have donated more than 25 large bags of clothing and supplies to benefit Lamb’s Fold Center for Women and Children in Joliet.

“The donations we have collected will help provide essential resources for more than fifteen families in need,” said Cross. “Because the summer donation drive has been such great a success, we are going to keep it going through the fall months."

Lamb’s Fold is most in need of women’s and children’s clothing, shoes, kitchen supplies (laundry soap, dish soap, etc. zip lock bags, foil, garbage bags, coffee filters, and paper products), beauty supplies, non-perishable food, hygiene products, school supplies, and more.

“I am thankful for the thoughtful contributions made by our communities and I am grateful to be part of Lamb’s Fold’s ongoing efforts to empower women and children who are struggling with domestic violence,” said Senger.

“We are all very grateful for the support shown at this clothing and supplies drive. The generosity demonstrated here will help make a better life for these women and children in need,” said Walsh.

Lamb’s Fold Center for Women and Children serves homeless and abused women and children by providing them with community-based supportive housing, personalized recovery services, and assisting them to achieve self-sufficiency.
