Thirty Vendors Turn Out for First Kickoff to Summer

MainStreet director: It's too soon to say how next year's event will shape up.

With a new name and a new venue, ’s festival started off the summer season in Plainfield last weekend at .

MainStreet Executive Director Susan Erickson said about 30 vendors turned out for the first-ever event, sponsored by.

“We anticipate that next year we will have a larger crowd and more vendors once word gets outs,” she said.

Festgoers enjoyed treats from food vendors including Annabell’s Bar-B-Q, Dippin’ Dots, Coach’s Catch, Game on Dog, Hillbilly Corn and T&T Tropical Treats.

Erickson said it’s too early to say how the fest will shape up next year, and whether it will remain at Plainfield Central.

“We will advise of next years plans when they become available,” Erickson said in an email.

Erickson thanked the and the with helping coordinate the festival.

“The guys from public works really were an important element to the success of our fest this year,” she said.
