Up to 2 Inches of Snow Possible Sunday: National Weather Service

Expect snow Sunday, continued cold Monday in Will County.

The National Weather Service in Romeoville is predicting snowfall of up to two inches in Will County, starting late Sunday morning and early afternoon.

Drivers are urged to use caution, as freezing drizzle could result in slick roadways Sunday.

"Over the next few hours, light snow will expand further east and cover all of Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana," according to the NWS. "Intensity will increase with around one-half inch per hour rates by early afternoon ... and visibilities reduced to around 1 to 3 miles. Motorists may encounter slick roads, especially on any untreated surfaces and overpasses."

Temperatures will dip into the upper teens Sunday night, according to the Joliet Weather Center. Partial sunshine will return Monday, but it will stay brisk and cold.
