Village Green Splash Pad to Open a Week Early
Hot weather, end of the school year prompted staff to open the facility sooner than planned. The Ottawa Street pool will open Saturday.
With temperatures expected to soar into the 90s in Plainfield this Memorial Day weekend, the Plainfield Park District will open the children's splash pad at on Friday.
"It actually wasn’t supposed to open until next weekend, but with Plainfield [School District 202] kids being out of school before the holiday weekend this year, and with hot weather being predicted, our park maintenance staff is getting it ready this week," said Public Information Coordinator Marianne Ryan. The splash paid is open daily from noon to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. through Labor Day weekend.
The opens Saturday, May 26. Afternoon swim is from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; evening swim is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; and weekend swim is from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
