Yard Waste Pickup Ends Next Week in Plainfield

It won't be fall forever so rake up those leaves and follow these tips to be ready for winter.

This weekend's dose of crazy weather is a good reminder that the mild fall won't hold off cold temperatures forever and that the city's fall waste collection in three weeks. Here are Village of Plainfield news releases about that and being prepared for winter:

Last day for pickup

The last day for yard waste pickup (including leaves) is Nov. 25 for residents with Monday pickup, Nov. 27 for residents with Wednesday pickup, and Nov. 29 for residents with Thursday pickup.  Please make sure that all yard waste is properly packaged in kraft yard waste bags and/or a Waste Management yard waste cart.

Proper disposal

To prevent storm sewer blockages, please do not rake leaves into the street.  Instead, place leaves in yard waste bags and put them at the curb on your regular refuse collection day for Waste Management.
