Art Project to promote Plainfield Riverfront Project

Art Cube Studios, a Plainfield-based art facility offering art classes for all ages and studio space for local artists, will be introducing an interactive painting project in one of its pop-up galleries in Downtown Plainfield’s July and August “Art in the Boonies” Art-walks.

Through art, community members will be prompted to paint something that symbolizes what the proposed Riverfront Project means for the village, each of its members and/or the businesses.  Everyone is invited to paint for free.  Art Cube Studios will have a room of information about the Riverfront Project along with a donation bucket for those who would like to contribute to the Riverfront Project.  There are no permanent plans for the large finished painting at this point (approximately 5’ tall by 32’ wide), but there are ideas of possibly selling off 1-foot squares of it and donating ½ the price of each square to the Riverfront Project.  Sales would be made in advance so that people could purchase a particular portion of the piece prior to its completion.

This charitable interactive art project will kick off during July’s First Friday Art-walk and continue through the last Friday in August.  To participate, just attend the art-walk (no appointments necessary).  All ages are welcome.  This interactive art project will be held in the Village Center Gallery.
