Plainfield North High School Fall Play Performance

Plainfield North High School is staging a unique modern play called, "What I Want to Say But Never Will," at 7:30 p.m.  Friday, November 12 and Saturday, November 13, 2010.  Both performances will be held in the PNHS auditorium, 12005 South 248th Street, Plainfield.

"What I Want to Say But Never Will," was written last year by English teacher and author Alan Haehnel.  The production is a woven series of responses from teens to Haehnel's questions: "What is it that you want to say but never will?  To whom would you say it? And why won't you say it?"

The show features a series of monologues connected by a narrator.  The monologues address issues from "I'm tired of hearing about the boy you like," to more complex issues like divorce and sexual identity.

"In general, the play is a roller coaster ride of emotion that does a good job of seeing multiple sides of complex issues," PNHS Fall Play Director Karl Smith said.  "The play is really about opening a dialogue between students and their parents and creating the opportunity to have difficult conversations."

***Due to the mature nature of the monologues, the production is intended for audiences of high school age and above.
