Plainfield UMC Adds Worship Band to 11 a.m. Service

Plainfield United Methodist Church is pleased to announce that Jason Hawkins, talented tenor and Plainfield North High School choral program director, has joined the church staff and is now leading a new worship band at the 11:00 service!

Jason, along with other members of the Worship Band - Chip Mackey (guitar), Tim Scates (piano), and Eric Wellman (drums) - welcome additional musicians (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, strings, and brass) to this new ensemble. Please contact Jason if you are interested. He especially welcomes junior and senior high youth to participate!

Each week, the worship band will provide an anthem and additional music, as well as lead congregational hymns accompanied by our talented organist, Kathleen Hermansen.

Both the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services will continue to enjoy regular performances from our other excellent ensembles, including the Bellissimo Ringers, the Junior Chimes, and the United 4 Him quartet.

With the addition of Jason to our staff, we are excited to be building on a proud musical tradition at PUMC. Whether it be at 8:30 a.m. with Chancel Choir or 11 a.m. with the new Worship Band, we hope you will consider joining us!
