REMEMBERING “G”: Ian Tyrell played baseball with Andrew Giaudrone on JCA’s Class 3A state champions in 2009 and the Hilltoppers’ fourth-place finishers in 2010. But their friendship goes back even further, to being a part of the St. Joe’s summer program and St. Raymond Cathedral grade school.

Giaudrone died of an apparent heart attack at the age of 20 while playing basketball this past November. Tyrell, his best friend, decided he wanted to do something in memory of “G” at JCA.

A Dueling Pianos fundraiser will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, in the Student Activity Center. All proceeds from this event will go toward the establishment of a scholarship at JCA in Andrew Giaudrone’s name.

Cost is $25 per person. There will be food stations and a cash bar. Raffles of one ticket for $5 or six for $20 can be purchased and a 50/50 drawing will be held. The winner of the 50/50 raffle must be in attendance. There will be open seating, or tables of 10 may be reserved with pre-payment of $250.

The Dueling Pianos is an all-request show – a sing-along, clap-along, dance-along extravaganza. Cocktails will be served beginning at 6 p.m. and the Dueling Pianos will be from 8-11 p.m.
