The victim in this morning's crash at Route 59 and Caton Farm Road is in critical condition, and no charges will be filed until police know the outcome of his medical situation and the result of blood tests, Joliet Police Cmdr. Al Roechner said.

The accident occurred at about 4:10 a.m. at the intersection of Route 59 and Caton Farm Road. The driver of the van, which had the right of way on sorthbound Route 59 when the car driver turned in front of him on to Caton Farm, suffered a broken wrist and other minor injuries, Roechner said.
He was treated and released from Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
A man was seriously injured this morning in a two-car collision that occurred at Route 59 and Caton Farm Road.
It appears the man was headed northbound on Route 59, turning west onto Caton Farm Road, when his car was struck by a van heading southbound on Route 59, Joliet Police Cmdr. Al Roechner said.
The van had the right of way, and struck the man's car on the passenger side with such force that both cars ended up on the grass in front of the BP station, Roechner said.
The man, whose identity was not available, was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Roechner called his condition "very bad."
More details will be available later in the day, he said.
