Joliet – Excitement is building as the Joliet Crusaders for Christ bring together over twenty community agencies and sixty churches of various denominations at many events in the month of June for the purpose of building good community relationships, transforming lives and connecting people to valuable local resources.
The Mayor of Joliet, the Honorable Tom Giarrante will speak at the June 2 Opening Ceremony at Chicago St & Third Ave, proclaiming June “Community Crusade Month”. Several Joliet City Council people will also attend.
This year the Crusade will be held for one week each, in four different Joliet locations:

June 1-8, Joliet’s south side, Chicago St & Third Ave
June 9-15, Joliet’s north side, Collins St & Columbia St.
June 16-22, Joliet’s west side, 1560 W. Jefferson St.
June 23-30, Joliet’s east side, Woodruff Rd & Draper Ave.
The program will include special young children’s programs on Wednesday afternoons, young adults’ barbecues on Friday nights and special events during the week, including messages from thirty different local pastors throughout the month.

Mr. John L. King, founder of Joliet Crusaders for Christ, is a Joliet native and an IT professional with a deep concern for the quality of life in Joliet, its citizens and the future. His goal is to create environments that connect citizens in a healthy way and enrich their spiritual life.
