When and how did your business get started?

Tony and Marlene Filippelli opened AirTek Heating in 2010 with more than 15 years of heating and cooling experience. AirTek is a locally owned Plainfield family business that specializes in the installation, service and repair of both residential and commercial HVAC systems. We also offer emergency power systems to keep the lights on during Plainfield's power failures.

With a background in commercial data center HVAC and back up power design, Airtek is uniquely qualified to help you choose a home comfort system that will maximize energy efficiency and provide safe and comfortable indoor air for your family. All while saving you money!

What is your business best known for?

AirTek currently specializes in providing the most advanced energy saving furnaces and air conditioners on the market today. Along with control systems and equipment from Honeywell and Armstrong Air, we design every system individually to meet our customers needs.

Whether they desire a simple dial thermostat, or the ability to monitor and change their system from their iPhone remotely, we can do it all. 

Why did you choose the town you did to open your business?

Marlene and I grew up in La Grange and decided to move to Plainfield and make a home for our family in Wesmere back in 1999. It's a wonderful family community with rural roots, which we love.

Marlene is a special needs teacher in the Plainfield school district. We have enjoyed becoming part of the community and helping our neighbors provide a healthier indoor environment for their families. 

What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know?

What most people don't know is AirTek is a licensed electrical contracting company. That means we are uniquely capable of handling your needs and making sure every new installation or service repair is done to the exacting regulations of the National Electrical Code. 

Does your business offer a special deals card or program?

We have a few specials we offer. Right now, we are offering $59 fall furnace safety inspections and cleanings. Also, 10 percent off to seniors and veterans and to Plainfield Fire and Police.

We also offer our Comfort Partner maintenance agreements to cover new and existing equipment. regardless of where existing equipment came from, we are happy to cover it. This helps minimize repair and maintenance costs to our comfort partners.

Having a Comfort Contract with AirTek gives our partners peace of mind. Knowing that their equipment is maintained to exacting standards, automatically every season, means they never have to worry about the unknown. We are always just a phone call away and at the ready to handle any system issues that may occur.
